Flux – The form that constantly changes;
the action or process of flowing or flowing out.
Chaosmosis – a hybrid alliance between
chaos and kosmos; loosely, the fusion of order and
disorder; to breathe with chaos.
Our final exhibition of 2024, Into the Flux. Acted as the third and final instalment into our three-part series investigating temporality, this exhibition aimed to honour the potential of chaos in the present moment, and the malleability of our ever-forming future. Having, in our previous shows, explored the nature of accelerationism in the contemporary age – how our lives were subject to constant expansion at an exponential and uncontainable rate – we then wished to swim amongst the reverberations left in the wake of this mass expansion. Whilst daily life was then rhythmed with an air of instability – the economic landscape, mental health, ecology, world politics, and our very conception of a future – this exhibition aimed to harness instability as a potent force. What might have emerged on the other side of a tipping point – what could have been built in the breakdown of pre-conceived conceptions of order?
